Polygatari - 祭り(Matsuri)

A contemporary recorder work blending jazz, electronic music, and Japanese folk-inspired elements. This is one of my most representative works.

This work received Second Prize and the Best Composition Award at Open Recorder Days Amsterdam 2023.
あたらよ(Atarayo)

A trio for two clarinets and piano

あたらよ (Atarayo) is a Japanese word for “a night so beautiful that one feels reluctant to let it end.”

While studying composition, I often find myself drawn to many musical styles and theories. I consider myself fairly open to different kinds of artistic work; early music, folk music, classical music, jazz, contemporary music, and electronic music can all make me spend a great deal of time studying them.

2-25

A short piece written for recorder quintet, imitating the lively and energetic atmosphere of Chinese New Year.

Blending fantasy colors with folk-inspired musical language, the piece uses strong rhythmic patterns and non-functional harmony to create a sound world with a sense of Eastern mystery and celebration.
