This work was selected as the official station-entry music for Taichung MRT Shui-an Temple Station.
The station is connected to a Taiwanese Daoist temple; after leaving the platform, one can see red lanterns and the nearby Shui-an Temple. We decided to sample folk-like melodies from traditional bayin music, combining guzheng and suona-like timbres with a relaxed Bossa Nova accompaniment, adding a touch of temple culture to the modern urban setting.
The suona-like sound was sampled by us directly at a temple, which became one of the small details of the work.
