Hsing-An Lee
Recorder Player / Composer
Interpreting through performance, speaking through composition – exploring the recorder between early music, contemporary music, and jazz.

Born in Taitung, Taiwan, and graduated from the Department of Music at National Tsing Hua University, majoring in recorder and minoring in composition. Studied recorder with Meng-Heng Chen, and composition with Hsin-Lei Chen and Chiu-Yu Chou.
In recorder performance, I mainly focus on early music and contemporary music, while continuing to study jazz.
I have received multiple awards in international competitions, and have appeared as a soloist at the National Recital Hall and the National Taichung Theater.
In composition, my work draws from electronic music, jazz, contemporary music, popular music, and traditional music, resulting in a broad and flexible musical language.
My output includes instrumental works as well as arrangements produced with music software. My compositions have also received awards, and one of my works was presented at Weiwuying.
